JAZZAJ at the Transparent Sound
Kis-Bali-Bolcsó-Porteleki

Dodó Kis used to be János Bali’s student, and has graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory this year. Besides the recorder, he also works with performative elements, similarly to Áron Porteleki, who is the percussionist of the concept-underground band Dorota and the musical-physical performer of contemporary dance (e.g. Dányi- Molnár-Vadas: Skin me). János Bali is a Liszt-award winner recorder player artist, composer and conductor, a committed performer of old and modern music, who is also unique in improvising. In his unique, analogue musical system he expands the opportunities offered by his instrument by sophisticated feedback effects provided by a microphone hidden in the recorder. Bálint Bolcsó is a teacher at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, a composer and an active artist of the improvisation scene in Budapest, building organic-like instruments applying live sampling. The quartet, on the request of JazzaJ will reveal instant compositions in the given moment with the active contribution of the audience.
